This white paper was developed by the Barometric Loop Task Group as the unified basis of recommendations to include in upcoming pamphlet revision(s) to address the details of barometric loop seals in chlorine service. This paper and the recommendations are meant to supplement individual company barometric loop design and operation policy and procedures. It is up to individual members to develop thorough and comprehensive hazard analysis and mitigation when using barometric loops or any other piece of equipment in chlorine service.
